Comments You would expect this to be a hard pounding tune as it's on Fluoro and you wouldn't be wrong. It also has that great acid feel to it in the background, reminding me of the old days. In fact in parts this very much comes to the fore, sweet. Not a lot then happens for a while, which is really frustrating; but then the melody kicks in and you can almost forgive the artist. Great pounding sound with a great use of multiple synths. Lots going on here so have a really good listen and you'll hear it all. Runs a bit short and does lack that killer extra up-tempo chorus. What you have is good old skool, blended with something more current; but missing the killer touch.

Comments Almost a prefect tune this, but the melody is too short. This is a full on head banger and I liked it just on the title before I heard it. You do get that wonderful acid noise in the background, which I love. The tune absolutely pounds at your head; it is total agro in a super way. The highs really take this to a euphoric high and the beat drives the tune onwards and upwards. The melody doesn't need to change in the second part as you are already sold and add the Marian Closca mix and you have a great pair of tunes. Melodies aren't long enough, but that's me being greedy.

Comments This is a happy tune, a very vibrant piano throughout and some really good powerful synths to accompany. The anthem gets an amazing build-up with one heck of a synth and then the tune just erupts. Solid beat, great pace and the synth really does take you on a journey. This works at almost every level, the beautiful piano at the beginning to the awesome anthem at the end. Very contrasting sounds, but wonderfully blended together and the melody is nice and long. This is epic and has that real feel or urgency throughout; you will gasp at the intensity of this. One of my fave tunes of 2013 so far, awesome.

Comments A sultry tune this. Starts with a firm beat and then slows down with a really nice piano break. When the tune comes back to life it's almost completely different, which as you can imagine always is a nice thing; assuming it works. This does, but the tune is a bit stop start and this slows it down un-necessarily. Oddly enough as it does slow, it kicks back in with a new sound which does sound good and almost allows you to forgive what else has happened. Have a listen as all the elements are here, just a bit all over the place.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Dmitry Golban
Comments This is a bit samey. I consider this quite typical of the label at the moment, deep beats and a solid progressive feel; but no real substance when it gets down to business. This is quite late to get going and the anthem is as already described, a bit flat to be honest. You think it's going to pick up late on, but instead it slows down which is a real shame. Lots of potential as the actual underlying feel to this tune is good, it just needs some real passion and energy injected to lift it up.

Comments This starts well and I like the subtle synths in the background. What follows is a rather heavy synth which I don't think sits right with the start of the tune, but it's not a showstopper. That said, this does fade out quite quickly and becomes quite dreary leading up to the main chorus. The slowdown gets some life injected back in with a very nice piano break, but this in itself goes round in circles and the lack of direction under the covers makes this suffer. When life starts again, there is a nice spark. The beat is crisp and the general feel is a nice and pleasant one. However, we go back to my previous statement of no real substance. I wanted this to work as I like the artist, but I think this is a lazy attempt at a good tune.

Comments This tune tries hard and there are bits in here which are great, but then there are the bits that aren't so. The melody has a really cool full on synth, gets in your face and delivers a really loud piercing sound. The undertone is a bit clanky, but it actually complements the sound quite well. It does need a little bit more and although there is good length to the melody, it lacks and real change in direction. The start is a bit off putting, mainly down to the clanky techno feel. Not sure this suits the tune overly, although it's a brave attempt by the artist of doing something different. Benefit of the doubt.

Title Summerscape Original Mix

Comments This has a nice summer feel to it. The synths early on are really simple, but get the sound and feel across really well. You also have some nice vocals (of sorts) fading in and out which help with that summer feel. As you would expect you do get a slowdown, but this is in-line with the rest of the tune and the noises you got early on continue. The build-up to the melody works a real treat and there is a great sense of urgency that the tune wants to explode. When it does, you basically get everything with a tad more urgency and a free flowing beat. Good long chorus and the second half does get that tempo lift, but I still find this lacking in places. I like the vibe and feel, but there is something missing or perhaps this is a tad too long. Still a good tune.

Comments Lots of energy in this tune, all them great classic trance sounds are here. You also get a piano thrown in for good measure, so what more could you want? Well, something that isn't the norm to be honest. I like this, the energy is there and the main melody has a real driving feel to it. The best is sound enough, slightly on the pacey side at 140BPM; but fast things can be good. Although I like what I hear, it does feel a bit aggressive for me and that will be the pace. I like my tunes slightly slower or with a lot more harmony and this doesn't do either. That said, the feel is good and I like the melody plus all those classic synths, so not a bad tune by any means.

Comments From the very beginning you get a good feel for this tune, it moves really nicely and has a great resounding synth throughout. The breakdown continues in this vein and when the melody kicks in you are well ready for what you get. A very nice sound, fresh and with the right amount of energy. It's slightly on the chilled side of trance, but the beat doesn't allow for you to get complacent with what you are hearing. There's a nice extra synth that kicks in mid melody, which adds a very nice extra bit. It's a good tune and is missing a bit more depth, but still worth a listen.

Title Pacifique Original Mix

Comments I like this tune, but it could have been so much more. There are some very good mixes, but what works in one is let down by something else. It's a shame, but not the end of the world I would add. The theme throughout is a really catchy riff and then you get a fantastic vocal, very Gamemaster. It's this touch that stands out and once you hit the melody (all be it not that obvious) things have livened up quite nicely, but then quieten back down far too quickly. It's a mixed bag of some great vocals and a catchy synth, tempered against things being a bit on the short side. You decide.

Comments Nice twangy feel and the synth is nicely brought into play. A really effective start to this and you're up and running very quickly in terms of where this tune is going. Typical slowdown early on and this builds up to a real crescendo in the melody. Nice beat and the general feel is really warming and happy with some nice high synths. Just when it's feeling a bit missing, a nice piano break kicks in just to give it that edge. This is further built upon with some nice mid-range synths that add some good depth to things, all in all the sounds work really well. Nothing special, but a tune that has been thought about and put together really well.

Comments From the Unearthed 100 collection, this is a nice bouncy tune that kicks off at a real frantic pace. As you would expect this does die down to a bit of a slower pace, but once the melody launches you are back to business. Although I like the power behind tis and the general trance sound, it doesn't do anything really special for me. This is a high end power club tune, one that will probably sound similar to many others out there. The melody does pack a punch, but is too short in comparison to the rest of the tune. Good production and a nice sound.

Comments This is a cheese record, but it's cheese with a really good strong flavour. Why? OK, there's a feel to this of being quite simple and the feel to this just has that initial vibe of something that is going to be quite awful. It's quite the opposite and I love the ‘hum' vocal that really makes a big different to this. Along with the nice synths this is a solid happy tune, once that generally makes me smile. I like the beat and the general ensemble of this, does have that odd non trance like feel, but in this day and age that isn't always a bad thing.

Title The Mountain Original Mix

Comments Taken from the ‘Last Goodbye EP', this isn't the best track as there are a few on there. A very different direction from the artists, with the tunes being a lot deeper and edging on the chillout genre. I like the idea of this and each track is quite diverse from the others. This is a more upbeat tune and one that has grown on me. Not quite the banging SoundLift you would expect, a much more measured approach and quite a refreshing one at that. The middle basically stops for an oboe solo, which I was not expecting; but in an odd way it was nice although not in keeping with the rest of the track. The rest of the track is a nice experience, listen carefully to the drum line; very nice. A different view on music and I hope there will be more exploration in this space.
