Title Star Travelling Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

5/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Solar Sky
Comments 2 very good mixes here, I'm always torn which one I prefer. Nice bouncy start to this, that groove that always hits the spot although you never know how hard. The slowdown is just that, but it brings in some really nice synths and starts the build-up very nicely. When this lets loose it has a super feel and vibe. The beat is solid enough, but it's what happens on top; all be it quite subtle; that really makes this stand out. A really powerful driving sound that gets the uplift in part 2 which just adds the proverbial cherry. This is not a big epic tune, but it's big in the quality of the sound. Lovely long melody here as well, so lots of time to immerse yourself. The Moonsouls version is similar, but a lot more club like. A quality offering.

3/5 : Good
Artist Sunset
Comments Good feeling to this, it has that great trance sound in the background from the off and with the beat this gets a great start. There are vocals to some extent, all be it there's no singing; listen and you'll get where I am coming from. Things continue OK and eventually you hit the main melody which left me a bit flat. After such a good start I was expecting a real explosion of sound which doesn't really happen. It's good, solid and flows well; but it doesn't offer anything different. That aside, I like this tune; it sounds good and mixes nicely.

Title Renaissance Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Turn & Natali Kryzhanovski
Comments Had to listen to this a few times to appreciate what was going on. This is a slow progressive tune, so you need to bear that in mind. Starts nicely and then the slowdown really does slow things down. Some beautiful synths here and the build-up is really nice, lots of mystery about what is coming. When the melody kicks in, you won't be surprised by what you hear as it's almost expected. It's a very simple tune, with a great undertone. The second half there's an extra piano break that adds a nice touch to things. It could have done with going on for a bit longer, to keep building the intensity; but what you are left with is nice.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Delerium feat. Stef Lang
Comments I listened to this because Delerium made ‘Silence' which in my opinion is one of the best dance tracks of all time. IS this as good? No. The vocals are OK and what is wrapped around them is equally OK. It sounds a bit dated in some respects and the driving beat doesn't really take off in any way. The melody is OK to be fair and here the vocals do work well, but it just doesn't explode on your ears. This is clearly aimed at the normal pop charts, which is a shame.

Title Rise Again Omnia Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Ronski Speed feat. Lucy Saunders
Comments Been a while since Mr Speed has interested me and to be honest if you listen to the mixes in the wrong order you will probably bin this. The vocals here are OK as they are in step with the tune. The tune itself is a bit hit and miss. It's a happy song with a nice bouncy beat and the vocals add to that general feel. It tries hard to do something different, but it's nothing I haven't heard before. The beat is good enough and the synths move things along, but together they don't sound right. Good long melody I would add and this is going to appeal to a lot of people, just not me today.

Title Are You Here Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Physical Phase
Comments I can't make my mind on this one, there are elements that I really like; but the start and beginning just don't work. The bit in the middle is great, real impotence on the music and tempo, plus a real drive underneath. The sound is really good, the synths blend well with the backgrounds; but there is just something missing. I think it's the way you get to the middle. The start is poor and the ending is even worse; which make up important parts of the tune. That said, the middle section (which is long enough) warrants a good score.

Title Promises Johan de Knock Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Mino Safy
Comments This has a nice subtleness about it and then you get some less subtle synths that break your thought process. It's a bit clicky when it gets going, very quick and short synths and the overall sound is a bit on the tinny side. After the first melody you will be left wanting and wondering why did you bother, but you do get a further stab at proceedings and these aren't any different. Not sure what I heard in this first time around, this is OK; but a tad sterile for my liking.

Title I'll Follow Solarstone Pure Mix

Artist John O'Callaghan feat. Ria
Comments From the off this gets the Solarstone experience, that wonderful flowing beat; smooth and nasty! Even the vocals work and to be honest at points they really do change the tune for the better. Love the driving bass line in this tune, its constant throughout and just makes the sound ooze into your ears so very nicely. I don't like the slowdown as the vocals on their own lose their impotence and it's because of this I have marked this down. Apart from that, the melody is great; same beat; but now with all the Solarstone noises that make his tunes so good. Wonderful piano break if you listen hard enough, good touch at a good point in the tune. I like this.

Title In The Name Of Love Kago Pengchi Remix

Artist Andy van Kayne
Comments There are a few real banging versions of this, but I was drawn to the more mellow and melodic version. The title would also normally put me off, but oddly this time it didn't. The vocals here are great. Super simple, but really effective and the tone they are put across in is spot on. This has a bit more drive than the original, so not too slow; just right. The clicky synths are great and I love the way they give a good summer feel. Great melody where you get a real feeling of happy happy trance music, with some extra synths thrown into really get the mood flowing. Simple, but effective.

Title Victoria Short Edit

3/5 : Good
Artist Sound Apparel
Comments There is an original and longer mix of this, 12mins long to be precise; which has lots of emotional and orchestral breaks. I usually like this sort of stuff, but for this tune it was a bit too much. This has got some and as it's shorter in some respects it works negatively towards the tune. The start is so fresh and bouncy and I really like the feel to this. The slowdown is too much, but once the tune gets back on its feet it has that great fresh bounce about it. The synths work a treat and they work you up very nicely in terms of tempo chasing. The underlying beat has a real controlled frenzy about it and put this all together and what you have is a very solid sound. The edit is too short and the original is too long, we need a medium.

Title Tranquility Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Afternova
Comments Strong start and then you almost get an orchestral piece in the slowdown, when it's not almost you do. This does change the dynamics of the tune and is very unexpected, it borders on THAT Braveheart tune of many years back. It then rolls straight back into the original tune as if nothing had happened. What you then get is a very nice sounding epic number. Lots of high pitch synths going on, driving the emotional strings quite nicely. It doesn't last very long which is a shame, but what you do have is a very different type of tune; rather enjoyable as well.
Label Abora Recordings (Promo) : Released June 2013

Title Supersymmetry Magdelayna Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Ascania
Comments I had to listen to this a few times as I wasn't sure on what I was hearing. This is quite a deep tune, starts quite bubbly; but once you get to the melody things do get very deep indeed. I like the moody feel and the synths that bounce around giving it a haunted feel. Goes on for a while as well, which again just adds to the depth. It ends on a bubbly number, like the beginning which works well for me. This almost has a retro feel to it, something I like and I look forward to hearing what the artist does next.
Label Pulsar Recordings : Released June 2013

Title Lost in the Lights Manida Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Ataraxia
Comments Powerful beats and synths, tempered nicely with a piano which is what you get during the slowdown. This does go on for a bit and I did start to get a tad bored, but fortunately the beat did come back. The melody has a very good beat and although there isn't too much else going on, you do get a good sense of purpose from the tune. There are some nice subtle sounds in the background and at the third repeat you get a lot more depth and feeling; which sounds really nice. The melody has a good length and I like the way it ends, quite slowly with some nice vibes. Slow to get going, but once you get there; nice.

Title Eternal Original Mix

Artist Gal Abutbul
Comments It was the slowdown that really made my ears start to listen to this. There's a synth that just starts to build-up, but the way in which it does it so powerful. Behind the scenes you can feel the tune hoting up and it teases you at every level. It then lets loose on your senses and it was so what I wanted to hear. The drive and energy continues, but now with a beat that is also building itself up. Something needs to happen and it does. More synths kick in and basically complete the journey and it is a very nice journey, pleasuring your ears and senses all the way. I didn't like the way the melody ended, but on reflection it works just right as the energy has to stop and you need to calm down. Nice tune.

Title Gone With the Wind Etasonic Remix

Artist Mostfa pres. Craft Integrated
Comments This tune goes for the jugular, lots of powerful beats and high end synths; aimed at the true club sound. Does it succeed? Almost. I love the energy and some of the sampling of beats is just awesome, adds so much more to the tune. The melody is just about making you happy and it makes me happy, I love the energy in this. It sounds faster than 138BPM, but that's a credit to the artist for the power that has been injected into this. Driving beats and pure noise, what else do you want?
