Title Body Slander Original Mix

3/5 : Good

Comments This is a really strange tune that has a really catchy edge to it. There's a really wacky feel to the whole tune that is finished off with a trumpet sort of noise all over the place. It's a slow mover at 126 BPM, but I really like this. It's very different to the usual stuff, which is what I think I like. It's not brilliant, but a breath of fresh air.

Comments Wow, I got so excited when this turned up as I love Tilt and have a lot of his work going back many many years. Starts a bit on the slow side, but bear with this as you are in for a treat. The piano / synth work is quite brilliant and reels you in to a totally different world. This is a great piece of work that sounds awesome loud and even better when you are right out there. Tilt at his very best.

Artist Mike Hiratzka
Comments Hhhm, not too sure about this one. It has male vocals for a start off ! This is really samey and goes round in circles and gets nowhere. It's OK, don't get me wrong; but I think if I heard this during a peak set it would really wind me up, mainly because of the overly repetitive vocals.

Comments Happy tune this one. Again, not really a hardcore dance number; but it just has enough of something different to make me listen to it. This probably is more funky disco to be honest, but it's OK. Samey, but happy.

Title Base 1 Original Mix

Artist Poonisher
Comments This is very simple, to say the least. It sounds initially like something someone cobbled together using a basic drum machine in their bedroom. However, let it run a bit and builds up nicely into a rather nice progressive house number. Got some nice noises going on in the background and a really nice beat that just keeps going and going. This would be a nice way to start the night.

Title Choose Something Like A Star Original Mix

Artist Tim Deluxe
Comments Funky disco house this one and it's really quite funky, no surprises there then !! The beginning is really nice as it has some fella talking about stars and then some rather good male vocals. All this on top of 134 BPM and the blend is just right. Plus, about half way through the beat changes to something much harder; so 2 for the price of 1. I think in this day and age of so much shite getting into the charts and the whole dance genre being milked, this is another breath of fresh air.

Comments This fella is rapidly becoming my god of the dance music. Everything he touches is just sooooo good and this is no exception. Similar in many ways to previous stuff, but why change what clearly works. This is epic trance as it's best, although I feel the vocals are a bit on the weak side and let this down a tad. This is 136 BPM of pumping music, go and buy it.

Title Illusions Marcos Remix

Comments Slow of the mark this, but once it starts to move it is quite a catchy number. A very noisy tune which when loud will hurt your ears. In my opinion, I don't like all the noise; but some will. The ?over and over? sample is also a bit irritating. The good news is that after half of the tune, it does calm down and get more club style; which is much better than the beginning. Not brilliant, but worth a listen.

Comments This is one very much for the purists out there. Not really my idea of a great tune as it is very much on the hard house tip. This has a hard solid beat throughout, that moves really well. Stops now and then and then throws a few different noises over the top, with the most prominent being a bell of sorts. Bit too samey for my liking, doesn't have that feel good about it.

Title But For A Day Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Marcos
Comments This starts like it really means business, but is disappointing in that it does take a while for it to really kick in. However, this is worth the wait as it is just a real explosion of sound. Very euphoric and anthemesque, but that's what we all like isn't it ? The problem is that it keeps stopping when it gets going and by that I mean it stops. The whole good feeling vibe just goes while the tune goes all ambient. Then it's back to business in a nice way, but the whole thing has been lost. This is a good tune that has real potential if someone wants to remix it.

Comments I almost overlooked this one as it starts so average. In fact you would be forgiven for binning this one, but bear with it until about 4 mins. Then the real tune kicks in and it is quite a nice number. Very much on the club tip and one I wouldn't be disappointed to hear peak set. It's a shame the good bit is so short and the build up so naff.

Title Yin Photon Project Remix

Artist Nickelson
Comments An epic one this. Has a really catchy tune, backed up by a solid pumping bassline. Doesn't do an awful lot, but it does deliver a good solid trance tune. The beat has a sort of reverb sound to it that sounds quite refreshing. The main sound is repeated a few times, but doesn't change too much. Gets a bit noisy in places and some of them are a bit 'screechy? and will probably bust the odd ear drum at full volume. That aside, a good tune that is well worth a listen to.

Comments This is due to be released on Paul Van Dyk's Vandit label after getting quite a bit of play from him. I prefer this mix to the Slusnik one as it is much more happy happy. This is a real summer tune and one you must buy. Extremely well produced and just so happy and bouncy. I love the drum beats in the background and all the noises that just add to the overall atmosphere. You will not find a better summer anthem than this.

Title The Situation Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist A Situation
Comments I love the beginning of this. The synths all buzzing around with the most minimal of beat, quite eerie ! When this does kick in, it really is quite simple. A solid beat throughout and just a ?buzzing? noise that changes pitch quite often, plus the odd enhancement here and there. Simple, but effective.

Comments Very pacey this one. In fact, this is a really well produced tune; clearly by an artist who knows what we all like. It's got a nice build up and the main chorus is really nice and long. You know exactly what you are getting with this, a solid dance track that will rock any club. Long chorus? are really good as you can really get into the sound and appreciate what is happening, which this lets you do. Nice one.
