Title Forget Sean Tyas Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Symmetry
Comments This is a strange tune as it's almost depressing, in that it sounds sad. Quite a noisy number this which at times distract from the nice stuff. Got a good chorus, but it's spoilt by a weird feeling which just brings it down. A bit screechy is the best way to describe what I mean. This is a good tune, but the excess use of music spoils it. If you can listen through it you will hear a real gem, just needs toning down.

Comments Something to do with ?Solid Globe? this lot, which ain't a bad thing. This has an Asian feel to it in places and is quite dramatic, somewhat movie like. The vocals in this are a bit off the scale, very opera and a tad out of place. That aside, a good tune is underneath it all. It's a strange tune, but a good one; very different. At about 4 minutes this tune stops and changes a wee bit, starting with a funky drum into. It then goes off on one and sounds totally different from the beginning, this is what makes this a great tune. Very different beginning and end, plus the weird opera stuff which will sound really mad in a club. Worth checking this one out.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist SoSonic feat. Daisy
Comments A simple tune that neither stuns or disappoints. Very simple ?bedroom? sounding beat and an even simpler synth accompaniment. I think it was the simplicity that I liked as it's a nice change. This isn't chill out, but it's not peak time in a club either. The whole tune is very repetitive and doesn't really grab you buy the whatever you haves. It's a nice tune for the early hours when you are feeling a bit drained or you fancy something that doesn't pound away at your ears.

Artist Matt Darey pres. Lost Tribe
Comments The original of this is in my all time top 3, it's a monster. I was excited to see so many different mixes of this, but hesitant of what they were trying to achieve. This is probably the best version, although not close to the original. The beginning is great for mixing as you get the female vocals in full, with minimal beat; very nice and brings them memories flooding back. It's a bit flat, but all the old sounds are there with some new ones. I would pay the extra cash and find the original; it's by far the best.

Comments This is a really strange number that reminds me of another tune that I can't place. This moves along really well and sounds nice and different along with some really cool subtle synth work. I was surprised as the artists are not generally my favourites, but the remixer was. The real downside to this like so many others is the length of the tune. No sooner are you into the sound and it's ending, which for this one is a real shame. Good nonetheless though.

Comments A very simple tune. Repetitive anthem throughout, which sounds really good. There's also some nice and simple synth work over the top in places which again just adds to the sounds. Got a rather tribal feel to it in places, just the drums sound a bit kettle like. There are also two bites at the cherry, which are sandwiched by a not too slow bit. This sounds good and is quite different to a lot of the harder club stuff in that it's simple, but delivers.

Artist St John
Comments This has that nice trance feel to it, you know that old reliable one that you hear and know that it's going to be OK. It's is OK, although like so many other tunes it takes a bloody age to get going and when it does; it disappoints a bit. You expect something really special after the wait and when it doesn't happen you feel betrayed. This is a good tune, solid beat and a nice fresh and funky feel to it. There are some nice noises going on and I like the drum roll in places. The chorus just isn't long enough, but this is OK and worth a listen.

Title Oceana Forth Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Daniel Gregory
Comments A banging sort of tune, very much what I would expect from Forth. This is nothing brilliant, but it does have that certain something that made me listen to it a few times. A simple beat, although there are some nice recursive drums in places which sound quite old skool. The synth work is very plain and doesn't really lift this very far. You will hear this in a warm up session as it's not a real club anthem, but an OK tune.

Artist Cinereal
Comments I usually avoid most vocal tunes, but this sounds really good. If I didn't know any different I would think this was Paul Van Dyk as it has his feel. Happy clappy music this, very much one for the mainstream clubs. Simple beat and even simpler background work, this is very much focused on the vocals and the drum work. The chorus flows very nicely and is very catchy. The rest of the tune is a bit stripped of sound, which is where this is let down a bit. The Empyreal Sun Remix doesn't really address this either and is of equal merit to the Original. A good tune nonetheless.

Title Wait For You Quadraphonic Remix

Artist Lost Witness
Comments There was a lot of hype surrounding this one. I have to be honest, apart from the Quadraphonic Mix I thought the rest were pants and there were enough of them. This is OK, it's nothing really special. The vocals rattle on for far too long and I did find myself loosing interest rather rapidly. Fortunately, once the chorus kicks in it does get quite decent. The beat and feel to the tune are good and the vocals work quite well. It's also quite long so doesn't end just as you start to enjoy things. Very over hyped, but a good tune once it gets going.

Title Crystal Clear Sonar Methods Lake Side Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Radiate
Comments Misleading from the off this one. Has a nice ?808 State? jungle noise thrown in here and there, the memories. Very slow to get going, but this is deliberate and it works well; hence you have to keep going. There is a rather large pause, but the piano work is really nice and relaxing. Bearing in mind the title, it does remind me of crystal clear water and being at the beach, chilling. Once this is going, it's a nice chilled tune that I enjoy listening to in the early hours driving to work. This isn't a dance tune as such, more of a wind down.

Comments Nadjanema was a monster tune and this little follow up is no disappointment. This is a bit more chilled, although it kicks big arse. There's a really nice piano intro just before the tune kicks in, which I really like. Once this has kicked in, hold onto your tits as it really delivers a punch. There's two helping of sound here, both sound slightly different; but both sound re4ally awesome. Full on trance this, peak of any night and you will be going mad. This is one of them that you will hear and not know what it is and it will bug you for ages. Great follow up.

Comments I really liked ?Exit? and this picks up where that left off. Pounding beat and bass line with an electric piano accompaniment, this sounds nice. Very fresh, this guy knows what we all like and delivers. Simple synth work keep this moving along nicely with the beat. It's also quite progressive that the harder you listen the more you hear coming in and out of the track. This doesn't suffer with any stop /start, it's business all the way. A great club tune and one that is sure to become an anthem.

Comments Now this guy knows how to rock you, another great tune from the man aka True Form. Takes a while to kick in, but the build up is good and doesn't drag along leaving you too much in suspense. The main chorus has a good solid beat and a nice piece of synth work in the background. Very much on the club / euphoric edge, has all the right sounds and elements. It's almost 10 mins long as well with a couple of main themes thrown in for good measure. A really good tune from a really good artist.

Comments Back in the Psy Trance days (the good ones), Israeli trance was always considered the best. Now if this fella ain't Israeli, then he must be a Russian ! Not sure why this is called what it is, I was sort of hoping for something a bit retro; but I'm not at all disappointed. Nice build up, moves well and keeps the interest going. The beat is a bit retro, which does give it quite a crisp and fresh sound. Bit repetitive in that once it's moving, it doesn't deviate from the plan. Not a bad thing, but some extra ?uummpph? would have sounded really good. A good tune nonetheless.
